When I'm not designing
- No-gi jiu-jitsu. Getting tapped by people half my size keeps the ego honest. Tap, reset, go again: the best feedback loop I know.
- Chess. Rapid, online, later at night than I should. Strong openings, shakier endgames.
- Cooking and cinema. I cook the way I design: follow the recipe once, then iterate until it's mine. Films on the big screen, phone off, two hours nobody can ping me.
- My cat. The real head of design at home. Rejects most of my layouts by lying on the keyboard.
- Travelling. Every foreign metro ticket machine is a free usability test. I fail most of them.
- Apps nobody asked for. A round timer for the gym and a payments tool for a grappling club, mostly so I'd stop doing it in spreadsheets.
